Soft Horizons is a teen’s bedroom designed to feel personal, comfortable, and quietly expressive without becoming overly themed or juvenile.
The room began with a soft, mural-style wallcovering in layered tones of blush, sand, taupe, and coral. Its abstract movement gives the space a sense of calm while creating a strong visual anchor behind the bed. Rather than relying on a traditional feature wall, the wallpaper brings depth, softness, and a more elevated sense of personality to the room.
The colour palette was built around warm pinks, muted coral, natural textures, and deep blue accents. This contrast keeps the room from feeling too sweet. The navy pillows and knit throw add weight, while the woven wall sconce, cane-front nightstand, textured cushions, and soft bedding introduce warmth and tactility.
A small reading corner was added to make the bedroom feel more complete and useful beyond sleep. The chair, floor lamp, hanging planter, and layered lighting create a quiet place to read, unwind, or retreat at the end of the day.
The result is a bedroom that feels youthful but not temporary. It reflects the personality of the person who lives there now, while giving the room enough maturity and flexibility to grow with her over time.
